Sizes from a rice grain to an azuki bean (small red bean)

Parasitize targets

Scattering in muscle.

Characteristics

Part of fish muscle sometimes becomes a jellied meat state.

Impacts on human

Kudoa septempunctata causes food poisoning but the other Myxospoidia produce no impact on human.
As a result of future researches, however, many more Myxospoidia of the Kudoa species that cause food poisoning cases may be found.

Major seafood hosts

Tuna, marlin, righteye flounder
