Characteristics of Didymozoidae

Color

Yellow when alive and it changes to black after death.

Size

Spherical bags of sizes of 1-50 mm

Parasitize targets

Parasitizing gills, fins, oral cavities, muscles, ovaries, and abdominal cavities.

Characteristics

Various shapes including stick shapes, spheres, and masses of strings.  Many of them are in bags.

Impacts on human

It does not parasitize human beings.

Major seafood hosts

Marlin, mackerel, skipjack, red sea bream, flying fish
